Guy Bourdin: Image Maker: Somerset House

The past few weeks have been a massive learning curve, I have finally established the exact path I want to go down career wise and I don’t think I have ever been more excited, scared, apprehensive all rolled into one. Now the real struggle of settling down begins.

I am still at Harrods (I don’t ever want to leave, but my contract end date is fast approaching unfortunately) and last week we wen to the GuyBourdin Image Maker exhibition at Somerset house to get some inspiration / be nosey!

For those that don’t know, Guy Bourdin was an enigmatic fashion photographer and the exhibition features over 100 pieces of his work. Guy Bourdin’s editorial and advertising imagery represent a highpoint in late twentieth century fashion photography.  Bourdin has featured in Pairs Vogue and developed a distinctive style of visual storytelling that continues to serve as a source of inspiration to contemporary fashion photographers.

I would strongly recommended the exhibition, fashion obsessed or not, it is incredible to see a display of such talent (even if some of the pieces are slightly strange).
